Whether never married, divorced, or widowed, the Single Adult Ministry at Mobberly is filled with opportunities for you to experience an ever-growing relationship with Jesus Christ. The Small Group is at the heart of all of Mobberly’s adult ministries. It is the place where everyday life intersects with biblical truth and people discover lasting friendships. Sharing our stories is another way to spread the gospel of Christ. We can strengthen each other's faith and encourage the world by sharing how God has worked in, on, and through our lives.
Take some time and reflect on these stories. Then share your story with the rest of us.
"Being a member of a Small Group has shown me the value of friendships united in prayer. This had not been a part of my life before. These ladies are so in tune with each other's needs and are so willing to help each other. Their love of Christ shines in their eyes and in their lives. This has influenced the way I now view the love Christ has and has for us and I now see how He guides my life." - Liz
"Our Small Group (East) realized that we needed to re-energize our Small Group Missions. Our Mission Team discussed new and different ways in which we could be of better service to God and our community. We were given a list of public services to choose from and one stuck out to us all. We adopted House of Hope as our new mission project. House of Hope provides women and children who are survivors of domestic violence or are homeless with a safe, Christian environment.
In an effort to motivate Small Group members and create enthusiasm, our Mission Team suggested we divide the SG into two groups. For each week (for 5 weeks) both groups collected specific items for House of Hope and we counted to keep a running total for each group. In all, our Small Group collected and delivered 512 food and personal items to House of Hope. The Team with that “lost” treated the other group with a Well Done Brunch before Small Group one Sunday.
Of course there are no losers in a project like this. Our Small Group discovered a new sense of joy in serving while enjoying a fun time of competition and fellowship. We all received a true blessing from this Mission project. God’s blessings are abundant." - Nancy
