jean-175A native of  Palestine, Texas, Jean graduated from Palestine High School. She holds certificates in Child Development and Physical Education. She is also certified as a Childcare Professional and Para Professional by the State of Texas.

Children in both the public and private sectors have been touched by Jean’s work. She has served in private schools for eleven years, ten of which she served as director of the schools. She served for eleven years as a paraprofessional in public schools. Jean also has experience in retail management and training.

Jean ably directed the Mobberly Child Development Center from November 1989 to July 1995. As Director of the Center, Jean supervised thirty-eight employees. Under her leadership, the Center enrollment grew from 67 to 185. Jean also led the Center to a solid financial condition. While Jean was director of the center, it attained certification by the National Association for Education of the Young Child and has maintained its licensing by the state of Texas.

Jean is married to Walter Conaway and they have one son, Bo Conaway.
