Mobberly Baptist Church to Host Events Focused on Helping East Texans

This week Mobberly Baptist Church will host several events focused on meeting the needs of those in our area.

Beginning Nov. 3-4, Mobberly Baptist Church will hold their annual Rummage Sale at the Exhibit Building at the Maude Cobb Convention Center. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is $1 on Friday and free on Saturday (donations accepted). Funds raised go to the Family Services Benevolence Fund, providing residents of Gregg County emergency help with clothing, food, rent and utility money and a variety of other needs.

On Saturday, Nov. 4, Mobberly Baptist Church will host the Call to Freedom Conference. Human trafficking is a major problem in East Texas, and the conference will help community businesses and individuals become aware of the issue of human trafficking. Along with bringing awareness, the conference will provide helpful tools to help people recognize and take a decisive role in annihilating human trafficking in East Texas in our generation.

The conference will be held at Mobberly Baptist Church on Saturday Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Register at

Rounding out the week, on Wednesday, Nov. 8, Mobberly Baptist Church will hold The Jerusalem Project. Church members will come together to package 130,000 meals to help feed those in East Texas in need. Mobberly is partnering with Numana, a hunger relief organization, to purchase and package 130,000 meals which will be donated to local food pantries, schools and other ministries. The Jerusalem Project is a mission opportunity for ages four and up. There are many ways to participate, from donating funds and coloring food boxes, to weighing and packaging meals.

Meals will be packaged at Mobberly Baptist Church’s Longview campus from 5 to 8:30 p.m. and on Mobberly’s Marshall campus from 6 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 8. For more information visit
