The Deacon Selection process allows the church to assess and enlist candidates for this ordained task of service. This is a summary of the process:.png)
Throughout the year, the church body will recommend deacon candidates through online or hardcopy nominations requiring thorough information about the candidate. The Deacon subcommittee will work with the pastor and church staff to compile the list.
The selection process will begin with informal vision sharing from the pastor; it will include a team of deacons interviewing candidates and wives; it concludes with the Deacon Body and subsequently the Church Body approving appropriate candidates recommended by this Deacon Selection Subcommittee. After a year of intensive training, these candidates are once again presented for approval to the Deacon Body and the Church Body.
As a member of the Mobberly family we welcome you to submit the names of those men you feel meet the qualifications of a deacon as found in the New Testament, Acts 6:1-5 and I Timothy 3:1-13. We encourage you to give prayerful consideration to these passages and the individuals that you recommend.
Men to be considered to the Fellowship of Deacons at Mobberly Baptist Church:
- Meet all Biblical requirements
- Are worthy examples to those within and outside the church, living an exemplary life, and supporting the ministry of the church in work, spirit, and cooperation.

- Practice storehouse tithing
- Have a healthy view of the home, a complete break with pagan standards and a commitment to the sanctity of marriage. A Deacon is should be the husband of one wife. A man who has never been married or whose wife is deceased would be eligible to serve as a deacon.
