Staging For Children10/12/11

The construction of the stage in the Children's worship area on the second floor of The Bridge has begun. This room, seating 230 children, will provide a creative and exciting venue for them as they learn about worshipping the God who loves them. Just think...this stage will be a tool to introduce kids to Jesus!

Going Up10/12/11

The new elevators are now in place in The Bridge. There will be roomy elevators in both the south and north foyer areas of The Bridge. There will be easy access between floors for folks who can use "a lift" going between the Adult (1st) and Children's (2nd) floors. This is just one more way to make The Bridge a welcoming place to come and meet Jesus!

A Good Sign10/12/11

The Bridge now has a sign! This backlit sign will help our community know where The Bridge is on the Mobberly campus. Now as you begin to think about inviting your friends, neighbors and co-workers it will be easy to say, "Meet me at The Bridge!"

Who Will You Bring?08/31/11

Here is the door to The Bridge. Are you praying already about the people you will invite to come hear about the Savior and grow with His people? Don't wait...start inviting today!

Foyer Space08/31/11

The spacious foyer on the south side of The Bridge will provide entry from north, south, and west doors. It promises to be one of the main arteries on Sundays and Wednesdays as people gather in The Bridge.

Room Colors08/31/11

The rooms where Mobberly's Small Groups will be meeting are taking on a warm glow. Paint and wallcovering are going on the walls on the first floor. Over 750 adults can enjoy this floor at any given time. Fellowship will be colorful as God's people gather!

Wallpaper Going UP08/31/11

The restrooms on the first floor are shaping up. Beautiful wallpaper and warm colors in tile will make this a comfortable, clean environment for Mobberly's members and guests.

Take A Look Now…08/15/11

Because in a couple of months you won't recognize this space! This is the worship area for our children, located on the second floor of The Bridge. Large enough to accomodate well over 200 kids, this room will be bright and exciting - with a theme the kids won't soon forget. What a great place for our children to come to Christ!

First Floor Rooms Progressing08/15/11

The rooms on the first (adult) floor of The Bridge are progressing. Most of the floor has been sheetrocked. The ceiling grids are being put in. The wiring for the networking and other infrastructure are now winding through the building. This room is beginning to look like a great place to grow in Christ!

Drop-Offs Made Easy08/15/11

The driveway through the covered drop-off on the north side of The Bridge has been poured. This will provide a convenient and safe place for families to be dropped off...with a shuttle ride back to The Bridge for the "chauffer."

Entry Taking Shape08/15/11

The red brick around the south entrance to The Bridge provides a beautiful contrast for those who will see and enter The Bridge from this side. Note also that the curbing for the concrete portion of the parking lot is taking shape. This lane in the parking lot will provide a drop-off point for both The Bridge and the Children's Building.

Eye In The Sky08/15/11

A recent aerial picture of The Bridge shows its development. With the building virtually closed in, work can continue in whatever weather conditions that present themselves (rain would now be a very welcome sight). You can tell that the size of this building will make it a wonderful ministry tool with the ability to accomodate up to approximately 1,500 people at any given time. Begin today to think of the friends that you will invite to The Bridge!

Bricks Are Rising06/14/11

The brick masons have been busy at work on the north side of The Bridge. The lighter color bricks are almost finished on the north side, and darker color will be added later to provide contrast. Most of the metal studs are in place on both floors, and sheetrock is going up on the first floor. As great progress is made in building The Bridge, help make sure that great progress is made in paying for The Bridge. Give to the Building Fund online or through your regular offering envelopes. If you have questions about giving contact Stewardship Pastor Greg Martin in the church office.

Red Bar Means Flexibility!06/01/11

Right now you can see an important part of The Bridge that will later be covered up. The red steel structure in the larger rooms will be used to support room dividers. This will allow these larger rooms to be flexible in use, providing a number of different configurations depending on the need at the moment. The needs may change as God brings people to the Mobberly campus, and a flexible building provides a wonderful ministry tool to help people meet Jesus. EVERYONE can be a part of this exciting work TODAY! Give for The Bridge (Building Fund) through your weekly envelopes or through the online giving option at MBC’s web site.

Taking Shape05/26/11

The contour around The Bridge is beginning to shape up. The terraced area on the south side of The Bridge will be two levels, with stairs outside to take Mobberly members and guests between the levels...with fresh air! You will be able to enter The Bridge through the spacious lower entry area or walk up to an entry on the second floor. Either way, you get to be a part of The Bridge. And don't forget that by giving your offerings for The Bridge you get to be a part of impacting eternity for future generations and for our community.

MEET YOUR FRIENDS HERE05/01/11

Picture yourself in this open space on Sunday mornings…talking with friends, drinking coffee, preparing for a time of relevant Bible study in any one of 38 classsrooms. This bright, open area in The Bridge will be a great “meet and greet” place for the Mobberly family and friends…and a place to encounter the life-changing Jesus Christ! Remember that your financial gifts to The Bridge help make this possible. The goal is to borrow as little as possible – and your gift is needed so money can be spent on ministry rather than interest. Give through your weekly envelopes or through the online giving option at MBC’s web site. For more information go to www.mobberly.org and click on The Bridge.

Canopy Coming04/28/11

Holes are being dug to pour pillars, which in turn will support the drive-through canopy for the north side of The Bridge. This will be a wonderful drop-off space for families, who can come in to The Bridge through two double doors to either enter the adult floor or take the stairs or elevator up to the children’s floor. And don’t forget that you are needed to help “cover” The Bridge financially. Give through your weekly envelopes or through the online giving option at MBC’s web site. For more information go to www.mobberly.org and click on The Bridge. Help ministry money go farther by delaying the need to borrow!

Topping Out!04/12/11

How exciting to see an American flag and a tree on top of The Bridge...but what do they mean? There is a tradition in the building industry that when a building "tops out" (reaches its highest point) a flag and a tree are placed atop the building to celebrate this significant point in the building process. Praise God - there's a tree on top of The Bridge!

Working Inside04/12/11

The walls inside The Bridge are taking shape as well. Remember that there will be 38 classroom spaces (21 on the first floor, 17 on the second floor) in The Bridge. These rooms will vary in size, allowing flexibility for groups who meet. Plumbing work is also being carried out to prepare the restrooms and other areas needing water. Be in prayer today for the workers who carry out this important work!

Skyline For The Bridge04/06/11

The outline of The Bridge is taking shape. On the left (west) you see the large entryway to the first floor, with doors facing south, west, and north opening to a large, bright entry foyer. The lower middle section is where the south door to the second floor will lead to the children's area or stairs down to the adult area. The elevated area on the right (east) is the large children's worship area, where hundreds of kids will gather to praise and learn about the Lord. The Bridge is shaping up, so please be a part of helping to pay it off as soon as possible. Let's get The Bridge done for God's glory!

Soundproofing The Bridge04/06/11

A special layer of soundproofing materials is being placed between the first and second floors of The Bridge - a "floating slab". A layer of concrete is first poured. A layer of plastic soundproofing foam is then placed on top of this layer. Then a second layer of concrete is poured on top of the foam. With this advanced soundproofing our wonderful kids will be able to make a joyful noise to the Lord...and still not disturb the adults learning below!

Bridge Update Video - 3-27-1103/28/11

Pastor Glynn provides a walking tour of The Bridge as the building takes shape. Take 3 minutes to get a first-hand "sneak preview" of The Bridge. And don't forget to help provide for The Bridge financially...through online giving at the Mobberly web site or your contributions through giving envelopes.

Give Online Here!

The Bridge Is Rising!03/10/11

With half of the slab poured, steel is now rising for The Bridge. Additionally, half of the southeast retaining wall has been poured. In the days ahead the other half of the slab and retaining wall will be poured, and the steel structure will continue to go up. As the pace of construction accelerates, so does the need for faithful giving in order to put off borrowing as long as possible. Keep your eyes to the sky as we watch the vision of The Bridge become a reality.

Leadership Looks On02/22/11

Everyone is excited about The Bridge progress! From left to right Andy Reynolds (MBC's Minister of Administration), Pastor Glynn, and Michael Gilbert (RLM Project Superintendent) look over the new slab poured today. The vision for the future ministry which will take place here and the desire that the process honors God reminds us that we need to be faithful...faithful to pray for safety and success, and faithful to give of our finances to help build The Bridge. Everyone can be a part of The Bridge!

Slabs and Walls02/22/11

The first section of the slab will dry for about 7 days before the next section is poured. Meanwhile forms for the southeast corner retaining wall (far right of the picture) are being built. Two "pours" will be required, with time to dry in between. Once these are done we will begin to see steelwork erected.

Light Work02/22/11

As the sun peeps over the trees 188 yards of concrete are poured for the first of two sections of The Bridge slab.

Concrete Progress02/22/11

Long before dawn on Tuesday, February 22 The Bridge workers were preparing to pour concrete. This "pour" would be the first of four: two sections of slab and two sections of retaining wall in the southeast corner of The Bridge.

Winter Wonderland02/09/11

The recent snowy weather has transformed The Bridge site into a winter wonderland! The messy weather has slowed progress some, but work continues towards getting ready to pour the foundation. This will be divided into several pours. The foundation itself will be done in two pours. The retaining wall on the southeast side (built into the hill) will be done in three pours. Each pour will be done and allowed to set. Again, since the foundation is so important, pray for these pours. And while you're at it, pray for some sunshine too!

Footings For Bridge Foundation01/11/11

The concrete footings for the foundation of The Bridge have been poured. These 24 concrete pillars provide the stable setting for the foundation of The Bridge. In addition, the mechanical “rough-in’s” have begun, laying the groundwork for the HVAC systems for this 54,000 sq. ft. ministry tool. Soon the foundation forms will be built and we’ll see lots of concrete trucks on our campus. Don’t forget you can help lay the financial foundation for The Bridge by giving through your regular offerings and/or giving through the online giving feature on our Mobberly web site.

GMP In…And Ready To Build!11/09/10

The subcontractor bids are in...and God has once again shown favor for The Bridge! The bids (added together to create the Guaranteed Maximum Price or GMP) have come in just slightly under the $10,800,000 approved by the Mobberly church family for the remainder of The Bridge project - building The Bridge itself. The Planning & Building Committee voted on Monday night, Nov. 1 to proceed based on this information. So now that much of the initial site work is already completed we are ready to build The Bridge. This aerial view shows the site, and in the months ahead we'll see a great ministry tool rise from the ground. Be in prayer for all involved in building The Bridge. And don't forget to give to the Building Fund today so we can pay as little interest as possible. It's an exciting time, and to God be the glory!

Site Shaping Up10/01/10

The Bridge site is shaping up. This view, looking at the north side of The Bridge, shows the relocation of the dumpsters to their final location. It also shows the drive area which will ultimately serve the north entrance of The Bridge. The new parking lot area has its foundation laid, but will not be finished right away. Instead, this area will be used as a staging area for the materials used to build The Bridge. Once construction is complete this parking lot will be completed, providing convenient parking for The Bridge. Keep watching as other elements are put in place to prepare for The Bridge.

Parking Lot Taking Shape08/20/10

One feature of The Bridge will be a new parking lot adjacent to the northeast corner of the building, as well as a drive-through drop-off area. The parking lot is taking shape as huge dirt movers move, pack, and shape the earth. Note the hot air balloons hovering above...everyone wants to see The Bridge!

Bridge Groundbreaking08/18/10

Wednesday, August 11 provided a wonderful Mobberly Family moment - the groundbreaking for The Bridge! Humdreds of people gathered to hear from the various team members involved: Pastor Glynn, Mark Wallis (Campaign Team Leader), Harold Hogan (Planning & Building Committee chairman), Andy Reynolds (Minister of Administration), etc. Then the Mobberly Family gathered around the new Bridge site for prayer and turning dirt. An ice cream social followed to cool everyone off. How exciting...The Bridge is coming!

Preliminary Earth Work06/18/10

The Bridge goes here! It's hard to believe that this spot of bare earth will one day soon hold hundreds of children and hundreds of adults who are experience the original Bridge - Jesus Christ. As we watch this spot develop, keep all of the workers in your prayers...and begin already to invite people to come experience The Bridge (Jesus).
